Hi, I’m Matteo, I’m Italian and I’m looking for a job as sailing captain on sailing yachts 55+ ft.

During the last period my partner Francesca and I have been managing a Bali 5.4 from its handover in France to sailing her throughout the Caribbean doing charters. Before that we sailed a classic 60ft Sangermani yacht in the Med and an Amel 50 from it’s handover in France to the Caribbean.

I would love to find a position where I could work on the same boat with my teammate but happy to consider other opportunities.
We are both licensed captains (both commercially endorsed yachtmaster offshore) and both licensed chefs and we’re happy to consider captain/cook couple positions.

I have previous experiences both in private vessels and charters and i have very strong social skills. I’m very open minded, adaptive and i love meeting and interacting with new people everyday. My experience in sailing is both in coastal and off-shore waters, having now 4 ocean crossings and more than 25’000 nm logged.

I love cooking ( as a good italian ;) ) and while studying for university I worked in restaurants and bars, both as cook and waiter as well as behind the bar where i learnt to mix some cocktails.

I speak a fluent English and a good Spanish. I have a degree in Mechanics and i’m graduated in Sciences for the environment. I love water sports and I have licences in both scuba diving and free diving. After sailing my biggest passion is fishing, a sport i practice since I was 4.
