My name is Laurent, I’m 23 years old and I work as a high school science teacher. Outside of teaching, I’m passionate about sports, the outdoors, traveling, and connecting with people. I’m a very active person — a true year-round athlete, both in summer and winter — and I love pushing myself physically while enjoying nature.
I’ll be fully available starting in June, as my current teaching contract ends at the end of May. My summer position with UNESCO won’t be renewed this year, which means I’m free all summer — and beyond. I have no fixed return date, as I plan to travel throughout the upcoming year.
I’ve been traveling for about three months every year, consistently for the past five years. These experiences have made me highly adaptable, open-minded, and comfortable living in diverse and sometimes challenging environments.
Although I have limited sailing experience, I’m eager to learn. I’m a fast learner, extremely motivated to gain new skills at sea, and excited to live a unique and meaningful experience. I bring a positive energy to any crew and adapt easily to different climates, group dynamics, and the captain’s expectations. I’m happy to help in any way I can and fully embrace life onboard.
I’m also certified in scuba diving, which could be useful depending on the voyage!
I’m flexible regarding destinations, boat types, and roles. Ideally, I’d love to depart from the Canadian East Coast, but I’m open to any opportunity.
