Hey there, I’m a sailor from New Zealand keen to get out and meet new people and have some fun experiences! I’m keen to explore anywhere around the Mediterranean and happy to jump on board for any length of time.

I’ve been sailing since I was about 8 years old, beginning in my grandfathers Ketch before starting dinghy sailing when I was around 10 until I turned 18. I picked it up again about 6 or 7 years ago when I began racing as part of the classic yacht fleet in Auckland. Most of my experience is day racing around the Hauraki Gulf with a mixture of multiday cruises up the coast as well.

I don’t have any qualifications but I’m a very competent sailor and have sailed in varying wind and sea conditions as part of a racing crew. I’d love to learn more about coastal and blue water cruising while I’m travelling to be a more well rounded sailor.

I’ve worked in classic yacht restoration previously so I know my way around a boat pretty well and can help with repairs and maintenance when needed. I’m competent in woodworking, fibreglassing, painting, varnishing and many other skills that come in handy.

I’m physically fit, I surf, swim, sail, climb, snowboard, and will do just about any physical activity that I can get my hands on.

I work in film making costumes and props, so I have a wide ranges of skills that come in handy every now and then. It’s also helped me become and very quick learner and a quick problem solver as there’s no one more impatient than a designer who’s made last minute changes to a costume and needs a prototype 2 hours ago!

I like meeting new people and sharing adventures so I’d love to meet some crews that I get along with and can really enjoy exploring with.
I do enjoy my private time but I’m happy to be a part of a team and share in the responsibilities around the boat.

I’m easy going and I’m happy to go where ever the next destination might be, I’m sure I’ll find fun experiences along the way.

I’d love to get more comfortable sailing on cruising boats and learn about the rules and regulations around it. Having mostly sailed by racing, I haven’t had a chance to travel much with it and I’d love to have a more relaxed and long term experience and use it as a mode of transport.

I’d also love to meet new people and make friends, I’m currently travelling alone and while it’s fun, I much prefer being surrounded with company and people I get along with
