Hi there !
French-italian girl currently in NZ after a year doing a Working Holiday Visa, looking for opportunities to sail in the South Pacific !
If possible - with my Dutch friend Evelien ! Funny enough, we met through sailing classes and have lots of things in common, starting with our love for the ocean ! With a great desire to learn, we take our responsibilities on board seriously, whether helping with watches, maneuvers, repairs, cooking or daily chores.
As a hydrologist with a minor in meteorology, Evelien is passionate about clouds. She'll bring along her (pocket-sized) cloud guide, and is always happy to share fun facts if you're interested. I am passionate about Mediterranean cuisine and trained as an architect. I can do my best to teach you Italian, Spanish or English (no guarantees).
Both of us are keen swimmers, scuba divers, snorkelers, apprentice wing foilers, and always open to learning new skills.
I have recently gotten my RYA Competent Crew certification here in NZ and went cruising mostly in the Tasman Bay, but also in the Mediterranean a few years back and during all of my teenage summers. I’ve lived on a boat doing some work exchange, and am comfortable with sharing spaces as I have travelled a lot in hostels. Evelien has been going out racing, learning alongside experienced sailors, mainly off the coast of Nelson.
Generally a hands-on person, I can help with all the boat chores, cleaning and cooking as I love trying new foods.
I’ve had opportunities to work and volunteer in Japan, Canada, the Netherlands, Chile and France, and am eager to continue exploring this wonderful world !
Happy to chat and answer any questions about myself or Evelien, or even schedule a call to make things easier.
