I am a positive, self motivated, friendly middle aged male with a love of water and the ocean. I love helping where i can, and enjoy sharing time a stories with others. I have an engineering background with experience repairing/replacing engines, gearboxes, doing fibreglassing, boatbuilding, woodwork, welding, metalwork, plumbing, electrical, CAD designing various items and construction of houses, motorhomes etc. I have been a scout leader training youth on sailing and other outdoor activities. I prefer warmer weather, and am looking for adventure and fun, while learning to sail/motor offshore on larger craft. I recently completed a 780Nm 6 day trip(including 4 day/3night continuous) up the east coast of Australia in rough conditions on a 43ft yacht. 3 crew held solo watch on 3 hour rotation. Trip included sail changes and reefing at night in 25 knot winds.

I have been sailing small boats since my sea scout days in my early teens, and have always owned boats of various sorts from canoes up to 26ft trailer yachts. I am looking to gain more experience offshore sailing, initially on Australia's east coast for some short trips up to 3 weeks, and later plan to take on longer trips. Recently completed a 780Nm trip over 6 days.
