Since I was a child, I sailed on boats belonging to my parents' friends. It was only at the age of 40 that I discovered the pleasure of sailing on sailboats. From then on, I spent two long periods sailing and living on board. The first of them was on the coast of Brazil, where/when with a friend we wrote two cruising guides. Then I spent another five years sailing the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean. I am a Portuguese language teacher and in the field of Education I have worked as a school principal and also as a pedagogical coordinator for several years. The ocean is my first passion and children are my second. I have an 18-month-old granddaughter who means the world to me. I love life on board, I rarely get seasick. Even though cooking is not my best skill everyone says my food is tasty and I can cook even when the boat is listing! I’m comfortable doing night watch.
