I am available now until October 2025 for short passages in Europe. From November I'll be available for any length passage worldwide. Ideally I'd love to find a place on one of the ARC crossings, or just find some warm water sailing during the European winter.

About me ...
Any day on the water is a good day! I'm looking for crewing opportunities on any voyage, whether social, racing or transit between locations.

During the European summer, I'd love to join you exploring different parts of Europe. Thereafter I'm keen to to escape the British winters and discover different parts of the world, experience different cultures and meet new people. I'd especially love to visit central and southern America and try to learn Spanish.

I'm a retired 59 year old male, living in Sussex, UK. I have with RYA qualifications for Day Skipper, VHF radio and PowerBoat. I have Yachtmaster theory and will complete YM practical once I have the required miles and experience. Hence why I am looking for good mile building opportunities.

I'm a non smoker, enjoy a social beer (or wine), and consider myself laid back and liberal. I like music gigs and festivals, cycling and making new friends.

I understand that your boat is not a toy. It is your home and I treat it with the same respect as I would anybody's home when they invite me in. I am happy to share cooking and cleaning duties on board. I am not a mechanic and boat maintenance is not my strong point. However. I have recently completed a RYA Diesel Engine course, and I'm very happy to follow instructions and get my hands dirty when necessary.

As well as meeting people, challenging myself, and exploring new places, I want to gain enough sailing experience to confidently charter and skipper boats so I can take friends and family out on the water safely.
The miles may help with formal qualifications, but far more important are the skills and experiences learned from time at sea in different conditions on different vessels.
