Hello all! My name is Hector, and I am a 100ton Near Coastal Master with a towing endorsement. Although my master credentials are fairly new, I myself am not new to the many challenges the sea brings. I am very motivated to continue my maritime experience by providing excellent customer service, safe operation and a memorable experience for all. I am also committed to meeting the needs of my superiors as well as my teammates/crew.

Most of my experience is in the north eastern area of Florida but I also obtained some sea time in the beautiful waters of south Florida. Some of my duties on previous vessels have included everything from navigation, safety inspections, underwater prop inspection and replacement, operation and much more.

Over the years I have accomplished many other certifications such as Emergency Medical Technician and Armed Security and Bachelors in Aviation (Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University) that would contribute to my abilities on board.

My time in the Marine Corps JROTC Program, Lifeguarding, Emergency Medical Services, and Armed Security Service have all contributed to giving me one essential skill. The ability to adapt and overcome has assisted me in all aspects of my life. No matter how much you plan, the sea will always throw something at you that you haven't thought of. In these moments it is imperative to remain calm, assess the situation and act. This is not an easy task by any means, but with my previous career fields I have not only learned new skills and abilities but have also put this adaptability into practice. This particular skill will set me apart from other canadities and show me as a collected leader.

Although obtaining my 100 ton master was a great start and accomplishment, I always strive to better my best and continue progressing. To fulfill this I must continue my time on the water going to new and further locations and diversifying the type and size vessels I operate. I am thankful for any opportunities that come my way and I am excited to show my new crewmates and superiors what I have to offer as well as learning from them.
