I'm so grateful for having been able to cross the Atlantic starting from Gibraltar with intermediate stops in the Canary Islands and Cape Verde to then reach Barbados. I could continue the trip by sailboat all the way to Charleston, South Carolina.
I love sailing and I love spending time out at sea.
Right now, I'm searching for a boat heading back east.

In October 2022, I finished my Master in Computer Science and have since then been following my goal of crossing the Atlantic Ocean by sail boat to the US and back.
I began the trip with only little sailing experience, but I've always found ways to be useful on the boats that I've been on. At home, my hobbies are woodworking and tinkering with electronics.

My passion for sailing began quite unromantically by realizing how bad traveling by plane currently is for the environment. Of course I still want to see many parts of the world. Especially the parts that you have to cross an ocean for, so I was looking for alternatives. Sailing from my perspective started out only as a means of transportation, but now that I know so much more about it, sailing in itself has become one of the main goals of my travels.
The idea for doing a round trip on the Atlantic Ocean sprung up about a month before starting to hitchhike to Gibraltar. As I have a lot of theoretical knowledge about sailing and also have some experience with motorized boats, I hope this will be useful to people and I can be a real contribution to the life and work on a sailboat.
