Introduction
Flying from Maldives to Malaysia 14th June 2025
April 2025 to June 2025
19 day passage from Kenya to the Seychelles, over 1,000 miles.
16 day passage from Seychelles to the Maldives, over 1,000 miles.
Went through several doldrums and squalls.
The passages were mainly hand steered due to auto pilot braking and wind vane being unstable. Took part in daily 3 hour shifts between 3 crew members.
22.04.2024 Visited The Great pyramids and took a couple of Scuba dives in Egypt.
15.07.2023 spent 10 days on a 37 footer in Greece, sailed between Kafalonia and Zakynthos. Spent a couple of nights on anchor near isolated beaches. The captain beached the boat at the second anchorage. Good experience getting out of the sand. Managed to get 7 days of sailing with one day using the asym-spinnaker.
12.07.2023. current trip cut short on a 30 foot monohull. Got some experience of tying up to several pontoons, rafting to other boats and tying to mooring balls. Spent 6 hours motoring on a choppy sea. Captain allowed me to take the tiller on the open sea for several hours, while he slept down below and I successfully steered around two boats in our path. Looking for new boat ASAP.
I am good with computers, DIY with engines and electronics and am a qualified Level2 carpenter. Pretty decent at cooking spicy dishes. Looking for experience on the waves to see if this could be my future retirement destination. Would prefer a boat with scuba equipment. Want to add scuba hours after recently gaining my PADI Open Water qualification.
For the last three years I have been going to the gym and swimming pool 3 times a week to stay fit and strong.
I am a keen gardener and gained a Blue belt in martial arts during my university years.
