Hi! I’m a semi-retired 54 year old. I worked as a retail pharmacist for 20 years. Spent some time as a marketing and operations manager. Then retired from white collar professions back to the family farm in Saskatchewan.

Now I professionally operate farm and heavy equipment and have a class 1A license for trucking super-b’s of grain and fertilizer. I perform general maintenance and mechanical work on a wide variety of equipment and diesel and gas engines.

In the summers I also give sailing lessons on Diefenbaker Lake. (A 100 mile long inland lake). For lessons we sail a 26’ Tanzer, a 29’ C&C, and I’ve also used a 27’ Mirage.

The winters are less busy, so I’m looking for something to keep me busy and focused.

I’m fairly fit and active. Although I haven’t competed for a few years, I was an enthusiastic triathlon competitor.

I sail recreationally and have my own 26’ Tanzer and 34’ C&C which I sail on Diefenbaker lake. As well as sailing my local lake, I have experience on a 30’ Catalina, a 32’ Ontario and a 34’ C&C on the Pacific coast of Canada.

I have sailed the Caribbean and crossed the Panama canal as crew on a Lagoon 400 catamaran (January and February of 2023). I have crewed on a Lagoon 421 for a crossing from Canary Islands to Cape Verde— then across the Atlantic to Barbados. I’ve crewed aboard an excess 15; sailing from Martinique to Grenada and anchoring at the hot spots along the way.

I Scuba dive and I’m certified to the rescue diver level. I also hunt and fish.

I have my Competent Crew, Day Skipper, Coastal Navigation, and Advanced Coastal Skipper certifications from CRYA. I’d love to get an opportunity to spend more time aboard a sailing vessel in the Caribbean. I’m interested in doing some sailing and finding like minded friends.
