I’m Erika, based in Rio de Janeiro. Throughout my life, I’ve always sought to stay close to the sea, historical places, nature, and meaningful encounters with other cultures. After years working indoors as a set designer, I discovered a deeper calling in the ocean — a way of life that combines freedom, human connection, constant learning, and deep respect for the rhythms of nature.
With international certifications and over 12,000 nautical miles sailed in ocean crossings — from Baja California to the Caribbean, from the Mediterranean to the American coastlines — I bring solid experience, respect for onboard hierarchy, and a proactive attitude toward helping with maneuvers, watch duties, and the overall care of the vessel and crew.
I’m passionate about scuba diving (including shipwrecks and encounters with manta rays, sea lions, dolphins, and whales), kitesurfing, hiking in remote landscapes, languages, and stories — especially those that live in ancient ruins and historic cities. Onboard, I help create a light and collaborative environment, with humor, kindness, and team spirit. I believe healthy dynamics are just as important as technical skills.
I’m still learning more about sailing, but I’m dedicated, curious, and always ready to contribute with what I know — and to learn from what I don’t. I’m a native Portuguese speaker, understand some Spanish and Italian, and am working toward fluency in English.
I’m open to different types of projects, especially long-term environmental missions and ocean crossings. I prioritize paid positions (negotiable) and believe a good video call before departure is essential to align expectations and ensure a smooth, safe, and enjoyable journey for everyone.
If you’re looking for someone reliable, calm, with a team spirit and a deep passion for life at sea — I’d be delighted to join your crew.
