I am a long distance hiker, backpacker, van-lifer and motorcycle-camper. I am travelling with about 25lbs/12kg (60L) of luggage.

I am passionate about travel and adventure. I started late (after a divorce and busy career) and I'm trying to see every country at a manageable pace of about 6-8 per year. I'm at bit behind right now at 15. I spend about 6 months a year away from home. I like experiencing new cultures and ways of life. I like meeting new people.

I am an independent person but I work well in a team environment. I can take orders and I do not participate in interpersonal drama. Polite, professional. I left my last group adventure because the leader was incompetent and disrespectful to our host.

I enjoy a couple drinks socially (as in, one or two) but I don't "drink". Everything in moderation. I have no addiction issues.

I hike about 6 months of the year, between 4000 and 5000km (or more). I've done the PCT, CDT, Te Araroa, AZT and Alabama Pinhoti and some shorter but notable trails.

My sailing experience is a one month trip from Puerto Rico to Florida via the Dominican Republic and Bahamas which was a mix of motor and sail including some sailboat problems and rough seas. I also sailed as a passenger in New Zealand.

I have had some lessons on a Sunfish. I'm very much a novice sailor, most useful as an extra hand or watchman. I want to learn and plan to get formal training so I can be safer, more useful and get on some cool boats!

I own a canoe and have done several week-long and shorter lake and river camping trips (the Bowron is my favourite).

I recently packrafted three weeks in Nunavut including the Arctic Ocean. My teammates would have me back and I plan to do more.

I don't love kayaking, but Ive done some in BC and New Zealand. I saw a penguin!

I've renovated homes and worked on my own vehicles. I've done periodic maintenance and diagnosed and repaired some sailboat problems such as Perkins 4.236, hydraulic steering, marine toilet. I like to read manuals and do it myself if I can. I'm gentle on equipment. I'm no mechanic, but I'm handyish.
