Hi,
My name is Romane, I am a 35 years old French backpacker. I grew up on a small island on the West coast of France, so I am familiar with the sailing environment, my dad used to have boats when I was a kid, I already spent some time in the sea. In 2021, I spent about 10 weeks on a sailing boat, from Magnetic island to the Torres strait (about 500nm). And more recently, from October 24 to January 25, I crewed from Cartagena, Colombia to Golfito, Costa Rica, including the crossing of the Panama canal (about 1100 nm). During this second trip, I have experienced night watches and small crossings (2/3 days).
I am eager to learn more and I am happy to help with daily chores, watches, maintenance... And I can of course participate to the expenses.

I am interested in learning more about sailing. I enjoy being next to the ocean, would love fishing as well or any water activities. I am a beginner surfer and really enjoy it, I also love swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, stand up paddles... I got my open water and my Wave 1 Molchanov freediving. I am open minded and always happy to learn new skills.
I am a respectful and positive person, usually discreet, feel better in small groups. I enjoy having drinks sometimes and being social but definitely not a party animal, I can spend weeks without any alcohol. Also, I do enjoy my private space and quiet times, even though that's not always easy on a boat.
I tend to be healthy, eating lots of veggies, fruits and not really into red meat, I love fish though.
