Introduction
Having invested in a career in IT and raising a family of 3 girls (who are now adults), it is time for me to fulfill my sailing desires and exploring those parts of the world not yet traveled.
To that end, I have completed RYA certification courses (to Day Skipper level) and VHF/HF Radio Operators certification (LROCP) which have reinforced that motivation.

My situation is that I am single, recently retired from the IT industry, have 3 grown up children that are very low maintenance, just fully renovated the family home myself & sold in Nov 20, perfectly happy on my own and am wanting to get more sailing miles prior to purchasing my own yacht.
I am fairly handy with electronics & power tools (although generally not at the same time 😁), can identify problems by not confusing them with symptoms and can readily identify & implement solutions that are within my competence (trying to avoid Dunning Kruger effect 😁)
I am a reasonable cook although I prefer to cook in quantities that last a few days.
During the 2021 sailing season, have assisted another yacht owner first in a refit/shakedown and cruising the Queensland coast from Gold Coast to the Whitsundays then back to Mooloolaba.
The 2022 sailing season was with the same yacht. Transit from Mooloolaba to Bundaberg, participated in the Beyond The Barrier rally from Bundaberg to the outer Great Barrier Reef & into the Coral Sea returning into Townsville and then back to Mooloolaba.
