My sailing experience encompasses my entire life. Since 6 years of age I have participated in dinghy sailing, rowing, bay cruising, yachting and all associated water activities. As an adult I have owned and lived permanently aboard two cruising yachts. My current home is a Farr 11.6 in eastern Australia. I have sailed extensively throughout eastern Australia, the Caribbean and the Pacific on both my own boats and doing professional deliveries.

I like ocean passage sailing very much and everything that goes with it like getting a boat ready to go to sea. I have done many ocean crossings including professional deliveries from St Marteen in the Caribbean to Australia, from The Solomons to Yap and then on to Japan, from Fanning Island in Kiribati to Hawaii Island and most recently from Raratonga in the Cook Islands via Tonga and New Caledonia to Southport, Australia. I was a steward/ first mate on a 25m motor vessel in the Bahamas. I was first-mate on a catamaran that cruised from Long Island to Nassau in the Bahamas. I have running rigged, spliced anchor rode and mooring lines , brummel sliced life lines, put sails on, sewed clear glass into the dodger of a catamaran that I have been privileged to be a part of over the past few years ..I have cruised the wonderful waters of British Columbia, Canada on various boats which culminated in a passage from Vancouver Island, Canada to Winchester Bay Oregon, US on a lovely Farr 60. I enjoy snorkelling and surfing and catching fish plus just getting to know a bit about the people and culture of the country I have just entered. I have worked in hospitality for a long time including bar work, cocktail waitress, food waitress and kitchen hand and cook. This experience has helped me to cater for the many people who I have looked after on both my own boat and delivery boats. I love boats and love the sea.

For 15 years I sailed with my partner and finding crew was never a problem as we had each other and just took off wherever we wanted. I have been doing a lot of coastal sailing for the last few years as I have been on my own but I miss crossing oceans and going overseas so that is what I wish to get happening from being on findacrew.
