Having lived in New York, USA for the last 3 years I have returned home to the UK and am available from January 2025 onwards for any sailing opportunities, work and adventures, to see where this takes me next. I joined the Hudson River Community Sailing (HRCS) in New York sailing J80 & J40's on the Hudson River every weekend. I also took part in a Fairlead program with HRCS, a women's mentoring program for learning and advancement with the potential to become a skipper.

In 2013/2014 I took part in the Clipper Round The World Ocean Race 13/14, completing 15,000 nm's over 3 months on 3 legs of the race, sailing London, UK to Brest, France across the North Atlantic ocean to Rio, Brazil, then the South Atlantic ocean to Cape Town, and finally across the Southern ocean to Albany, Western Australia. Following Clipper I did several yacht deliveries across the Mediterranean, and a long passage on a converted motor fishing vessel with a family from Stromness, Orkney Islands to Andratx, Mallorca.

I believe I have the variety of sailing skills required to help out across all aspects onboard and my sailing skills obtained include RYA competent crew, Essential Navigation & Seamanship, Sea Survival, Day Skipper & Watch Leader shore based course. I have also helped crew on a RYA Skipper practical course with Moonfleet Sailing in Poole and round the Solent on a Baveria 36.

I'm an energetic, reliable, confident and fun crew member. I've rotated across all roles on the Clipper 70 ft yacht as part of a 20 race crew. A major part of the experience was working as a team and dealing with daily life on board, watch systems, hot bunking, rotating across all roles from navigation, helming, trimming, hoisting and packing sails to 24hr mother duties for 20 people and general maintenance, cleaning, hourly checks and logs with overall safety being the highest concern

I am interested in gaining crew experience and am available immediately. I've been working in the media industry for over 20 years in London and moved to New York in 2022 on a transition with my company, but this placement has now finished and I'm now looking to take time out to focus on sailing adventures and am keen to continue the journey and gain experience wherever it may take me. Besides sailing my interests are dancing, music, and the arts.

To continue developing the sailing skills I have acquired with HRCS & Clipper. After my sailing experiences I enjoy being part of a crew, and feel at home on the seas and ocean experiencing the exciting challenges, freedom and friendships that this can bring.
I want to develop my skills and would look to qualify to skipper/yachtmaster in the near future when possible.
