Dear Shipmates

Introduction

Whilst sailing around the world a vacant crew position exists on the leg Cape Town South Africa to Salvador Brazil.
Present crew 2 male retired experienced sailors, both with partners ashore who are not so keen on oceansailing. The sailboat with present captain has already sailed the world in 2016–2018.

About the boat, the plans, and current crew

usually cleanshare experiencevisit remote places

After having completed a circumnavigation in 2016–2018 we are now on our second worldtour which started oktober 2024 in Lanzarote (Canary Islands) and which is supposed to finish in july 2026 in the Netherlands.
For some of the legs a position on board as crew is availabe. The first option comes end of August 2025 boarding in Darwin Australia and join the Indian Ocean crossing to South Africa in the meantime visiting Christmas Island, Cokos Keeling, Rodriguez, Mauritius and Reunion, ending in Cape Town december 2025.
The second option would be the Atlantic crossing starting in Cape Town in january 2026 with finish in Salvador Brazil februari 2026 meanwhile visiting maybe Namibia, St Helena.
The third option could be (part of) the leg Brazil to Netherlands (march-july 2026).
The permanent crew is Ronald the captain/owner of the yacht (67, mechanical engineer retired) and Jan (75, teacher of sports retired) both experienced sailors.

What is expected of the crew

clean & tidyeasy-goingenthusiasticfriendlyrarely/unlikely seasickno facial piercingsno visible tattoostravel light (little luggage)positive outlookdon't mind cleaningwill not bring a pet

It would be nice when crewmates can be of added value with watch keeping, cooking, maintaining the boat, but more importantly be a good sport in the team by being flexible and tolerant to individual (specific) characteristics of others on board the ship.
Some experience at sea is a plus so you know that you can handle a longer ocean passage (homesick, seasick, ...)
