The 63-foot catamaran we will launch and set sail from Thailand starting in September is highly technological. Basically, it's powered by electric motors and self-sufficient with electricity generated by solar panels and wind turbines, with Li-Fe-P battery storage and a methanol fuel cell and corresponding methanol tank as a backup power source. Finally, as another navigation safety system, it has a kite on the bow to propel the catamaran.
What I'm looking for now, as the owner, is to sail for a few months with an unpaid but experienced recreational crew of about three members, to master all the new features on the boat in terms of technology and seaworthiness in different circumstances. What I'm looking for is to form a crew with an experienced captain, a crew member with experience in electrical, mechanical, and software issues, given the boat's specific characteristics, and a waiter-cook. Later, I will form a professional crew to undertake luxury eco-charter trips in areas yet to be determined.
