Dear Shipmates

Introduction

Hi! I am an older single woman with a large dog looking for a licensed professional captain to help me enjoy my boat, learn how to be a good owner/crew member, and manage my dog and have fun. I am a non-drinker and do not enjoy spending time with drinkers. Also a non-smoker. Not looking for romance of any kind. I sold my house and bought the boat and need a good, dependable, knowledgeable, skilled captain to work with me to make this experience enjoyable and worthwhile.

About the boat, the plans, and current crew

usually cleancomfortablevery spaciouslive off the grid

The boat is new to me Leopard 53 PC. After some upgrade work and fixing some issues, I hope to head north to the northern end of the Chesapeake for the summer. I have a slip reserved in a marina but would like to take trips away here and there all summer. I am an inexperienced solo woman with a large dog and seek a captain for a trial run for a month heading north in the hopes of finding someone full time to help me manage the boat. The boat is setup to be almost entirely off grid. It is equipped with a great anchor and chain, a DockMate twist, lithium batteries, lots of solar, air con, dc to dc chargers, residential fridge, dishwasher, extra freezers, AIS transmission and receiving, an Ultralight Tender with 30hp outboard, and a generator when absolutely necessary. All the makings of a fun and safe time.

What is expected of the crew

clean & tidycommitteddiligenteasy-goingfit & healthyfriendlyorganisedrespectfulskilledtrustworthygood communicatortravel light (little luggage)politepositive outlookopen mindedsense of humordon't mind cleaninggood with maintenancewill not bring a friendwill not bring a pet

I will provide food or money for food. I’m not a cook so you may be on your own for fixing food. I like things tidy but am not rigid. I would consider a couple with one or both being a licensed professional captain. You would have a double cabin with a wider than queen berth and private head in a separate hull from mine. I may have a guest or two aboard sporadically in their own cabin with their own head. I want someone who can trouble shoot mechanical issues and do simple fixes as well as perform usual maintenance on engines, generator, water maker and household items. Great communication skills and a solid sense of humor will be helpful.
