Dear Shipmates

Good day, just checking this sight out before taking off for a bit at the end of 2024. This year has been entertaining to say the least and brought things into perspective. Not sure where the boat will be heading honestly have not thought that far ahead yet, but the islands for sure.

A little about me: Fun loving and love to learn and teach. I will blame my uncle for introducing me to sailing in Southern California. After a few years on land breeding and training horses I wanted to get back into sailing. I started doing beer-can regattas on San Francisco Bay. That got me into crewing on a Hans Christian 48 as mate for about 5 years. During that time I was saving and looking for a boat.

I found my S&S 52 in South Carolina and moved to the West Coast of Florida with her. Over the last two years I have been learning the boat and doing my best to bring her up to date. While here I have got my OUPV 6-pack and learned that 7 feet of draft brings its own set of challenges in West Florida

About the boat, the plans, and current crew

The yacht is a comfortable ride. I have spent the last two years going through and fixing and updating things to get her ready to head out. Last on the list is solar and new batteries (AGM or Lithium, can’t decide). Oh and to fix a couple leaks, why are there always leaks?

What is expected of the crew

To quote Chris Rock “don’t be a dick”. That is kind of the way I live my life and what I expect from others. I love to learn, and enjoy teaching. “Attitude, the difference between ordeal and adventure”. Crew is expected to share in duties on the boat, cooking, cleaning, maintenance, and fun.
