Dear Shipmates

Introduction

Crew wanted for Pacific Crossing.
General Itinerary: Chiapas Mexico -> French Polynesia ->Samoa-> Fiji -> New Caledonia -> Australia. Sailing Distance approx 7400 nm. 60+ days of sailing spread over 100-120 day
Approximate Departure: Chiapas Mexico by March 1-14, 2024.

* Experienced sailboat owner-captain seeking a curious adventurous exploration crew to cross the Pacific from Chiapas Mexico to the east coast of Australia,
* I will cover fuel, boat maintenance, immigration and customs fees.
* You are expected to contribute your skills and/or money. If you have the experience and skills to solo across the Pacific, I’ll pay for provisioning and marina fees. If we make it to Australia, I will refund your airfare up to $3K USD.
* You will need to cover travel expenses to/from the boat and personal expenses onshore.
* The boat is an Island Packet 370 and is pretty well equipped with B&G Electronics (T2, NAC-3, Zues…etc), Vesper * Vision AIS, StarLink High-Speed Internet, 1200 watts solar, 9kw Lithium, Watermaker, induction cooking, etc…
* Your own private cabin.

Crew nice to have…
==
*Interested in surfing and spearfishing.
*Easy going person guided by practical considerations rather than strictly adhering to a particular ideology. I encourage crew’s input, openness and discussion when making decisions except in emergency situations,
*Some offshore sailing experience with overnight passages. We need to know that you know what the journey entails. Able to sail the boat single handed in an emergency.
*Flexible omnivore diet. I think this has been the most difficult part of offshore sailing. If we rely on my level of cooking skills, we would need to survive on fresh fish and rice, spaghetti bolognese, peanut butter and jelly, cereal, oatmeal, granola, bacon and cheese sandwiches, eggs, fruits and vegetables. Someone with more advanced cooking skills would be great.
*Willing to help me catch, clean and cook seafood.
*Physically fit

I want to cross the Pacific from Mexico. I consider myself open minded, easy going and will always choose the path to happiness when making decisions.

Long passages are not easy. I found it helpful to have boat therapy everyday to talk openly about what we did well, what we didn't do well and how we can improve. You can't hold anything back and not let anything build up.
