Love of sailing and blue waters has been with me since windsurfing years when I was 14 and in Barendrecht bought my first sailboat, a wooden waarschip, took good care of it and sailed to Amsterdam singlehanded, my first sailboat experience, alone, and in waters never before, was exhilirating. Lived and worked professionally off the boat for a little bit then the pandemic hit. The boat also had it's fair share of bad luck thanks to some good-meaning Dutch friends who borrowed it for a bit of sailing in 2019 and is still in repairs since.
Bought with partners a French Amel Euros 41, requires much inside work but is in excellent hull condition with a fresh 75 Volvo Penta motor, auto pilot, strong batteries, solar and wind (uninstalled) renewables, two perfect masts, and we will practice our skills before we take off.
I am a multinational at heart with high energy and positivity towards life. Not showing nearly my age, tireless, avid beach volleyballer, long time swimmer, wind an recently wing surfer, and more, and love the seas and the endless challenges. Also with an MBA from a credible US university, multi-faceted businessman but hardly a hard worker, love life and enjoying the time we have here on this green blue planet we call earth. I eat anything and everything, open to experiences, open-minded, free-spirited, joyful and experienced in life, learning, building and preparing for it, but considerably inexperienced when it comes to sailing.
Interested in helping bring the boat up to speed? Caring for it while living in it, taking the dinghy out since the lake here is small, and later we go sailing in the bigger lakes, and eventually cruise out around Gibraltar down the Med and the Aegean, in short the adventure of a lifetime, again for some of the crew hopefully since we need the experience too :) Much preparation already done, minor tweaks, we get to know each other a bit, and when we are all ready, embark on this journey :
