Dear Shipmates

Introduction

Aloha. My name is Tom and I come with a 12 pound terrier mix named Meka. Due to COVID restrictions and world tensions I cancelled my round the world flight plans and sold the airplane, and bought a 42 foot catamaran. I need help. I cannot or should not do this alone. Meka is very smart but I need someone to help me learn how to sail a 42 ft cat. Also need someone to live aboard when I travel to San Diego to care for my older brother..

About the boat, the plans, and current crew

The boat is a 42ft Lagoon TPI. She went through an extensive refit over the past year. All new electronics, navigation, auto pilot, water maker, solar, lithium batteries ...

What is expected of the crew

Update 11/8/2024: Back on the boat after a couple months in San Diego. In wet storage in Richmond Hill (Savannah) until at least Dec 8th. Then who knows. Allot has to do with finding crew.

Update 8/13/24: Currently in the Ft. Mcallister Marina in Richmond Hill Ga. doing engine maintenance.

Update: We are currently in Bimini heading to West Palm then up the coast to NC. Crew is expected to help me learn how to sail her. I have 46 years experience on the ocean but never as captain of a 42 ft cat. We can learn together if needed. I expect crew to know how to use hand and power tools, basic sailing terms and skills and navigation. I expect my crew to get dirty, sweaty, tired, hungry, excited, and fulfilled. I expect my crew to create, edit, and publish refit video documentation and publish on social media. I expect my crew to understand when I get frustrated and want to give up on my dreams and aspirations of living my best life and finding someone to share it with and don't let me give up.
