Dear Shipmates

Introduction

I'm departing for the Caribbean in late November, beginning of December. I'll be leaving from Wanchese North Carolina to Beaufort NC. From Beaufort I'll be crossing the Gulf Stream, sailing southeast and picking up the trade winds. Trip should be 12-14 days open ocean to the Caribbean and then casually cruising the Caribbean . I would like to have three experienced sailors aboard, one being myself.

About the boat, the plans, and current crew

usually cleancomfortablevery safeshare experienceseek adventure

The Valiant 40 is an extremely sea worthy boat designed by Bob Perry and has a reputation as one of the best and safest blue water boats. My boat has roller furling head sales and an inmast roller furling main. Main sail is radial cut and brand new, Head sails are in excellent condition. Standard rigging has been recently inspected. Electrical system has been upgraded. The life raft is brand new. The yacht has AIS send and receive, a radar and Garmin chart plotter as well as a new EPIRB. We have VHF radio at the cockpit and also at the Nav station. She also has a Raymarine auto pilot and a Monitor Windvane.

What is expected of the crew

I like to read , swim , fish and explore. I enjoy people but like a quiet experience and am fine with music. I am a non-drinker but enjoy most healthy food.I appreciate a good sense of humor. I am really looking for enjoyable and pleasant crew to help with sailing.
