Dear Shipmates

Introduction

I've spent many years exploring coastlines, having days/weeks out on the water just enjoying being out there on both sailing and motor yachts, including the occasional ocean passage. My current boat is destined for a trip around the northern coastline of Australia, starting now in Geraldton. I'm searching for 2 or 3 people as crew/company to join me for some or all of this adventure.

About the boat, the plans, and current crew

usually cleancomfortableluxuriousvery safevery spacioushave a holidayshare experiencevisit remote placesseek adventurelive off the grid

For the last few years I have been exploring the south west coast of WA while I change parts of my 8th boat to make it much more suitable for a cruising/exploring life. For the previous nine years, my 7th boat was located in California and the Baja Peninsula, Mexico at various places while myself and friends came and went exploring the deserted islands of the Baja and the Sea of Cortez.
My trips usually are for 2-3 weeks away from the port where the boat is based, exploring all of the areas easily accessible from that port and/or moving on to the next region north. The boat is now based in Geraldton, had a few trips to the Abrolhos Islands and Shark Bay World Heritage Park etc is now the next area to explore. I am on my own with friends often visiting from the east, but crew are essential for me to go exploring.
The boat is a very comfortable motor yacht that can run fast when needed but generally I travel at 6-8 knots (sailing speed),or 14/16 knots depending on our needs. This allows life to simply continue for all on board while we relax and share the necessary duties of cruising or just living in one spot for a few weeks. It is also economical at this speed. The boat operates comfortably with 2/3 people eventhough it can easily accommodate 8 people in 3 cabins.
I have added/altered many features to suit longer range cruising ( eg 2000 watt solar panels, much larger anchor/ground tackle, 3000watt inverter, larger refrigeration/freezers etc etc ) just as I did on previous boats.

Whether in port or cruising my boat provides free accommodation for crew Own cabin with ensuite) /we all contribute to food provisioning and I take care of all direct boat costs.
I’m looking for some sane fun companions as crew and fellow explorers with useful common sense ( know when to play and know when to work). Good attributes include - love the water, agile, aware, self contained, collaborative as part of a team, take responsibilities, appreciate mother nature. You don't have to know too much about boating/sailing. As long as you have the right attitude, I can happily teach you if you want. If I don't know, we'll work it out together !!!........ and you just GOTTA have a sense of humour - Mother Nature will test us out on that one, at times !!!

Time is not our enemy when we’re out there ! el Tiempo no es mi enemigo
