Sailing from Carnarvon around the end of May 2025 up the Ningaloo coast mostly day sailing bay hopping to Exmouth stopping at some of the most beautiful anchorages along the way for surfing snorkeling and spear fishing and generally chilling out and taking in the amazing scenery and wildlife.
From Exmouth heading out through the Mackerel Islands and up to the Montibello islands for a month or so I before returning to Exmouth to resupply before heading north east towards Broome then exploring the Kimberly and on to Darwin.
The next destinations Rolly Shoals, Scott reef, West Timor and beyond!
Some sea time preferably but not essential. It's a romantic idea to sail anywhere but it requires a certain type of person to cope with the elements, gain boat skills and live in close quarters.
A sea trial of a few days will help to decide if it's good for all concerned.
I don't put my boat or others under stress and I keep it all very relaxed choosing good weather windows to sail and resting between passages, being patient when it's not. No time line, no pressure, enjoy.
I generally prefer sailing with mixed company as I find it much more balanced and interesting.
While I have selected the "Romance" option it is NOT a prerequisite.
Good, intelligent, happy and easy going platonic company comes first.
There have been several younger international female crew I formed great platonic friendships with who kindly left references.
All destinations and passage plans are weather dependent and flexible.
I am happy to teach sailing skills and navigation to the best of my ability... and you can teach me a thing or two 🙏☺️
My boat is a Crowther Windspeed 38 Catamaran professionally built with dagger boards. So boards up with a shallow draft for lagoon life, very sea worthy, strong fast and fun. Simple and easy to handle rig. Main and furling jib, symmetrical spinnaker.
Tiller steer but the autopilot does most of the steering and never complains while you trim sails, cruise around and enjoy the scenery.
Reliable, economical, twin diesels.
Two private double beds in opposite hulls and two singles, full galley down.
Two fridges and two freezers to carry plenty of supplies for island living.
Solar powered with portable gen-set and water maker.
Head/toilet with hot shower and hose that can also be run outside. Another shower on the forward tramps which is also a great place to stretch out, relax any time, watch the 🐬 or moon light nights and star gazing.
Very comfortable over 6'4"height head room in cockpit saloon and hulls. Privacy in a separate cabins with double beds and ample room inside and out as it has a 7mt beam (almost 23ft) making it wide and stable.
Protected wide cockpit with solid coach roof gives safe easy access to main sail and comfortable seating under the coach roof.
The coach roof covering the cockpit gets you out of the sun and elements while enjoying the view. Complete canvas and or mosquito covers around cockpit and all hatches. Comfortable saloon, removable doors and windows into cockpit for the tropics.
A pleasure to be on board
I am happy to teach surfing where it is safe. Plenty of spare surf boards. Kite boarders will have to bring their own gear.
Recommend to bring your own dive/snorkel gear and a wet suit.
YOU MUST BE A CONFIDENT SWIMMER!
We will be able to view the Humpback whale migration while travelling north. There is so much sea life, turtles, Manta rays, Dugongs, dolphins, all along the coral coast and islands.
Any member may hop off at any time as there is no time obligation however I would hope there is some commitment if you join ahead of other interested crew.
If at any time it does not suit you to continue you are free to leave and all effort made to get you to a suitable location within reason as soon as possible.
