I am currently (April 2025) building the crew list for this summer and already have crew pencilled in for the full season, but only one has booked her flights. When aboard my boat in Greece please be assured that I do sail, and don't spend lengthy periods at anchor or in port. I try not to do any overnight sailing - about 85% of the nights we'll be in port and the other 15% at anchor. Depending on how long you are on board will dictate how many miles we sail, and places and islands that are visited. PLEASE READ MY REFERENCES, I'm an experienced sailor and you are in safe hands! My Moody 35ft Sloop (Shown at an anchorage in Croatia) has been based in Greece sine 2009 - crew members are needed from early May to late September each year. Joining would normally be at Nafplio or Poros with easy ferry or bus transfers from Athens International Airport.

My narrowboat is based in the East Midlands of the UK near the city of Derby. There are several airports in the vicinity, from which I could meet you in my car.

In the Mediterranean I coastal hop from one anchorage or port to another. My sailing is like an extended vacation - taking in the beauty and history of the places I am cruising and enjoying the anchorages, swimming, snorkelling (I have no dive equipment on board), bars, restaurants, etc. I also do plenty of walking ashore. This is relaxed and enjoyable cruising, but I need to share it with someone!

I am an experienced yachtsman and have sailed in many parts of the world aboard a variety of different sailboats, dinghies and windsurfers! I am more than happy to teach any aspect of sailing that a crew member requires – I hope that my many years of racing and cruising aboard sailboats, and from a career spent as an officer in the British Royal Navy will be of help, whilst improving your sailing skills and navigational skills.

Please be aware that I have zero tolerance with regard to illegal drugs, narcotics or any related substances (even if legal in the country of crew members). I also do not permit smoking of any type aboard my boat, even on deck. I will only accept completely non smoking crew members.

I very much enjoy meeting people from around the world with a range of different sailing and work experiences. I have few rules on board (just the normal things), but crew members must be non-smokers and non-drug takers, hopefully good company, have a flexible and relaxing attitude and enjoy the lifestyle of living aboard and cruising. Some sailing experience would be useful but definitely not essential.

We share costs whilst on board and getting yourself to and from the boat from your own location is your own responsibility - we would agree the most suitable place to join well in advance of you joining, depending on where I am, where you are and the most convenient airports and airlines. This is not a paid position and we would share costs, usually about €20 to €25 a day per person. I shall not be responsible for any of your travel costs to and from the boat, or if leaving the boat early for any reason, or for the costs associated with returning to your flight departure location. However it is always my intention to return you to your airport departure destination, or as close as possible to it.
