I’ve built sailboats (Sabre Yachts, South Casco, Maine), co-owned a marine electronics/navigation equipment business with a former partner, delivered boats in ridiculous conditions and lived aboard as crew. Have done three trips down the rivers to Mobile, Alabama and Florida as part of the Great Loop. I’ve been through the Panama Canal and logged delivery miles along the Mexican Coast as well as the Gulf of Mexico, the East Coast and the Caribbean.
With over 10,000 NM behind me I am working on obtaining my captain’s license. I’ve completed all my coursework and testing, recently updated my CPR/First Aid, and have my FFC radio license. I’ve completed all other requirements for my license but have been lax over the years documenting sea time. With that finally done I’m awaiting the issuance of my OUPV. Now I’m looking for some fresh sailing experience.
I am good at cooking and provisioning, have good line-handling skills, know my way around a deck, can take directions, show initiative, have a decent mechanical aptitude and an excellent work ethic. On top of that I am generally fun to be around.
At this point I’d really like to get some hands on sailing in, maybe get in some deliveries and generally build my experience/confidence level.
I look forward to hearing from you!
