Recently retired from the realm of aviation security for a Govt. Agency.
I dont want to die on the couch so this is where you come in to save me from myself.

Straight, respectful, no drugs and a non smoker - married for 37 years. Widowed 7 years now. Love to travel, have a great appreciation for different cultures, enjoy cooking, eating, photography, good wine with meals.

I enjoy good music (particularity Oscar Petersen) and most live concerts. I am probably the most musical person I know that can't play an instrument or read music. Could there be a music teacher with a sailboat out there?

I speak just enough French to know how desperately I need to improve. I enjoy most music, except RAP.
This is a selfish endeavor and is more about me finding a sailing mentor. I would love to join a bi-lingual, French speaking crew to improve both my language and sailing skills.

I would prefer anywhere in the Med for up to 3 months with the "right fit" but wouldn't discount other destinations preferably in Europe.

I'm an active 79 year old with some, albeit limited, sailing experience. I have been a day sailor locally and sailed 7 weeks (June and Sept of 2012) in Turkey on a 43 ft sloop. I am looking to gain more experience from longer cruising voyages. Would love to ultimately gain the experience and confidence to crew on a transatlantic crossing at some point in time. I am not naïve enough though to tackle that without some more sea time.
Training: Cdn Yachting Assn. Intermediate level.
Some club experience on Lake Ontario.
Two weeks on a 40 ft in Greece and the 7 weeks in Turkey has got me "hooked"
I 've completed 5 marathons including the 100th Boston on my 50th birthday - cant run anymore since a knee replacement in 2015 but I cope without too many complaints. Cycling has becoming more attractive recently.
Most positive trait: I am honest to a fault - I don't lie and and I am not a thief.
Negative: I can sometime think that I am the only one with an opinion that matters.
