A friendly, open-minded, and safety-conscious sailor with a passion for exploration, I enjoy the camaraderie and adventure of life at sea. With a mix of offshore and coastal experience (around 2,500 nautical miles), I’m eager to contribute to a like-minded crew—whether for a long-term voyage or extended islands or coastal cruising.

I’m a dependable, cooperative, and humorous team player who values safety, reliability, and good communication. Young at heart but mature in attitude, I enjoy learning, listening, and sharing the pleasures of sailing and discovering new places.

✔ **Adventurous explorer** – Love snorkeling, hiking, ancient sites, and discovering hidden gems ashore. I hold SSI advanced SCUBA diving dertification and wish to get into free-diving.

**Sailing Experience:**
- **2023:** Passage through the Greek Islands to Tivat, Montenegro.
- **2022:** Crewed a South Pacific passage (Fiji → New Zealand, 3 crew total).
- Mixed experience on monohulls and catamarans (coastal & offshore).
- IYT Bareboat Skipper & Competent Crew certified.
- Dinghy sailing background a long while ago.

- Happy to travel to embarkation and cover my own costs (visas, flights, etc.).

I get on with people. I can be quiet or happy to have conversations. My life philosophy is increasingly coming round to the fact that I need to be doing things that I really want to do. Sailing is one of those things.

I'm fit and healthy - still running 5k 3x per week and have recently taken up Pickleball to replace the soccer I was playing.

A fun, easy-going crew or skipper to share adventures with—whether crossing oceans or slowly discovering coastlines. Ideally, a long-term partnership with fellow explorers who value safety, good humour, and the joy of sailing.

I'm living in New Zealand but will travel around the globe for great opportunities.
For visa purposes I hold dual citizenship for the United Kingdom and New Zealand.
I'm not restricted by time and a long adventure exploring new lands and islands would be ideal.

I'm happy to travel to the embarkation location and of course will be paying for my own
departure costs and visas etc while traveling. I'm also happy to contribute my share towards cruising expenses and help out in any way that I can with maintenance and fixing stuff.

I've listed a number of skills and qualifications - the selection available on the site might not have always been an exact match, but for example my advanced open water diving is not with PADI but SSA or my sea survival course was a full-on 5 days for my ticket to work on North Sea drilling platforms. I have also undertaken a week long offshore firefighting course while I was working in the offshore oil exploration industry.

I am confident at sea, responsible, safe & sensible. I enjoy sailing & the cruising life style of living aboard . I'm fit & healthy, willing to take on daily chores aboard a vessel; certainly not fixed in anyway to particular way of doing something. I'm eager to learn & can follow instructions. I’m not afraid of hard or manual tasks.
I consider myself to have a warm friendly nature. Love to have a laugh & have some fun. I'm a positive happy person. I can cook well and have been doing so for close on 50 years (my dad taught me at an early age)
I hope to enjoy long distance ocean voyages, just being at sea facing new challenges & sharing the experiences with others, but I’m also happy to cruise and hop islands and bays. I enjoy fishing and cooking and eating fish. I also like to scuba dive given the opportunity. I have an advanced SSI qualification.
I’ve a wide variety of experiences having worked in the car industry as a production engineer, the exploration oil industry as an engineer in remote offshore locations and rough seas; (too) many years in various ICT roles including network engineering, business analysis and plenty of years as a project manager. I’m a qualified snow ski instructor and a swim teacher. I've also a dad to two lovely children who are now fine young adults seeking their own life adventures.
I’m a pretty practical will always roll my sleeves up, take things apart and attempt to fix them. I don't usually have too many bits left over :)
