Hello, my name is Brontë, I am from the US but have been living in Colombia teaching Social Studies for the past 4 years at a Middle School. I am very open minded and care about people. I quit a year ago to travel fulltime in Asia and now my mom is coming to visit me!!!!!!! After hearing about my adventures and trips with findacrew my mom got bitten by the sailing bug and now she would also like to hop on a boat and adventure together. My mom is a firecracker and everyone loves her, she's also a great cook. We are very close, can rough it and are up for all adventures. I have been at sea for over a month now, around Phuket, Thailand and Malaysia. I have thoroughly enjoyed learningthe ropes, and what it takes to run a tight ship.

I am really easygoing and laidback, I am extremely positive and can be a great cheerleader as long as there is sunlight. I grew up the oldest in a large family so I am good at diffusing tension and good at living in close quarters with a lot of people. I like being around people and sharing stories, listening to different perspectives and learning from other people's experiences. I am learning to navigate a sailboat and tie knots and would love to learn more. I love listening to people and helping them. I also love reading so I can also find ways to entertain myself. I want to explore SE Asia for a few months and then eventually head to New Zealand.

I want to travel around SE Asia but I want to do so in a way that doesn't do as much damage to the environment and in a way that I can experience more of what the islands have to offer than just the touristy beaches. I prefer traveling to places that are more untouched and where they whole economy isn't based on tourism as I find this unsustainable to the environment and local culture. I can enjoy those types of places for a bit but after a while I would want something more unique. I have over a months experience on a sailboat in coastal waters in Malaysia and Thailand and worked for a week on a sailboat in drydock. I love the rocking of the boat at night. I am really excited to learn to sail and meet interesting people and have fun adventures. I have been interested in sailboats for a while and am loving learning how to sail and see more of the world and experience the sailing culture.
