Hello. This year in March 2023, I single handed from Japan to the Philipines. It was an amazing trip. Before that, I owned and sailed the boat for 17 years in Okinawa, Japan. Now I am accepting people on the boat who want to learn about the budget cruising lifestyle. You can learn about sailing and how to live on a small cruising sailboat. There are many wonderful things. Visiting new places, meeting new people, snorkeling...but cruising has many hardships too. Little water, little electricity, occasional storms, there is a lot of maintenance. I hope we can enjoy activities like snorkeling too, but not every anchorage has coral. The purpose is not a vacation, the main purpose is to learn about sailing and how to cruise while visiting new places. The minumum stay is a 20 day challenge for USD440 per person, sorry no refunds. After that USD18 a day. I use this money to keep the boat going. Diesel, maintenance, repairs. In addition, you will need money for your food/drinks, on shore costs, personal items, travel costs, medical, etc. Your contributions are what really allow this adventure to continue.
In 2024 from April to October, I planning a sailing trip through Japan. Very few cruisers visit Japan. I have lived in Japan for about 35 years and would love to guide interested people around this beautiful country. I have also owned my boat here for nearly 20 years.
I would love to hear from anyone interested in these trips. Fair Winds
