I'm a passionate freelance skipper who was previously a NeuroAI research engineer.
As of February 2025, I sailed 2,117 NM as a skipper and more than 4,000 NM as a co-skipper, first mate, and deckhand. Before my skipper career, I worked at the Olympic Marina (Lavrion, Greece), where I deepened my knowledge of boats and catamarans, specializing in the repair of Hanse and Bavaria vessels.
In 2025, I decided to transition to offshore racing and long ocean passages.
Racing Experience
I recently completed the ICLA7 training course. In 2024, I participated in the Marmaris Regatta as a trimmer. In 2025, I plan to compete in two offshore regattas in Croatia in April as a trimmer, as well as one offshore regatta in Spain. I am dedicating significant time to practicing techniques learned from books and videos. My goal is to reach a high level of performance and test myself in the Aegean 600 and ARC.
Offshore Passages
I plan to obtain my RYA Yachtmaster Offshore certification in May. I thrive in challenging conditions—half of my trips in 2024 were mile-building passages in the Cyclades and the Canary Islands. I have completed more than five solo night passages and eight-night shifts in 35+ knot winds and rough ocean conditions. About 90% of my experience is with monohulls, though I have also sailed catamarans. I typically handle monohulls between 46-51 feet and catamarans between 40-45 feet.
In January 2025, I encountered my first storm as a skipper during Storm Garoe in the western Canaries, facing gusts of up to 45 knots and 5-meter waves.
Charter Skipper Experience
Despite my passion for adrenaline, a significant part of being a charter skipper involves managing a boat for clients. I have experience solo handling and docking boats up to 43 feet. However, I prefer to engage my passengers in the art of sailing, encouraging teamwork—while also knowing how to manage over-enthusiastic or intoxicated crew members.
I enjoy creating an atmosphere of endless adventure on board, whether through a vibrant party experience filled with activities or an immersive dive into local culture, including history, cuisine, and nature.
