qualified for leisure sailing, I am a late-40s, male looking to spend my free-time on sailboats to gain further experience.

I was introduced to sailing by my father as a child and joined him on his Star Class race yacht for many inshore regattas until he sold the boat when I was a young adult. Getting married and raising three children left little time to devote to my boating passion, but I kept seeking opportunities including sailing lessons on coastal catamarans (Atlantic and Mediterranean), saling cruises as passengers (Mediterranean), chartering a skippered cruise-catamaran (Pacific). Only a few years back I started to take sailing more seriously again, obtained my qualifications and spending more time on boats including chartering and operating my first yacht as the responsible skipper in the Mediterranean (it was a motor boat though, due to a lack of competent sailing crew). I have also attended a number of ‚skipper training‘ turns both inshore and on the Mediterranean.
My job situation is such that I cannot accept any paid position outside my current employment so I am looking for unpaid options. I am free to take a leave almost any time ideally with as much notice as possible but two three weeks in advance will usually do. As I still want to spend vacation with my family, I am currently looking for one or two one-week turns per year – shorter “extended weekend” trips may come on top.
Due to my location in the south of Germany, the Mediterranean, North Sea and Baltic See and British Channel are the locations I can reach best.
I am looking for any work related to navigating and operating the vessel and I am highly interested in learning more about repairs especially at sea.
I know how to cook (although I prefer other task). I eat almost everything but prefer vegan or vegetarian options.

My current work contract ends at age 62. My plan is to completely switch careers then and start living on my boating abilities, as a sailing instructor and/or paid skipper. Any experience that better qualifies me for that time is what I am looking for.

In Order to do that I intend to enhance my German qualifcations by RYA Offshore/Ocean qualification in the comming years.

Ideally I would like to find a skipper (or several skippers) who repeatedly need(s) crew for extended weekend-, one- or two-week-turns over the year. And join them as a reliable partner whenever their need and my availability match.
