Updating my profile
Last 4 years have been captaining a 52 ton 52’ powercat that originally was owned by Ted Hood. “Giovannino” originally named “Twin Robin” A beautiful unique boat that we started a charter business in the Exumas. We are no longer interested in weeklong charters but would consider helping the boating community to move their boats around or other boating possibilities. My wife Sue is no longer available as part of the crew at this juncture.
Also had updated my Captains license to 100 ton.

Hello my name is Doug. I have a US Coast Guard near coastal 100 ton license with a sailing endorsement. I have recently gained experience and sea time to qualify for 100 ton. I gained this experience chartering with my teammate and fiancee Sue in St Maarten and St Vincent & the Grenadines and the Bahamas. I was the captain/skipper and Sue was the 1st mate/cook. I have 35,000 miles of sea time on sailboats ranging in length from 46 to 56 feet. Prior to chartering, Sue and I co-managed a high end fishing lodge in S. Andros, Bahamas. We owned a trimaran which we sailed back and forth from the States to the lodge for weeks at a time during the off season. I also owned 2 other boats - another trimaran and a cat which I sailed both throughout the Bahamas and southern Florida.

Previously I headed up Teton County's Search and Rescue organization in Jackson, WY. I participated in over 1100 missions acting as incident commander for most of them. I have a broad range of rescue training and experience from swift water to helicopter short haul as well as extensive medical training.

I also had a fly fishing guiding business in the Rocky Mountain west for 25 years providing quality customer service to discerning clients. Fishing is one of my biggest passions along with sailing.

Sue's background is in the technology industry working for major corporations as well as small businesses. Her last job in that field was with a business in Jackson, WY that provided travel arrangements for rock bands and film production companies. Her interest in sailing came from visiting friends with sailboats in Newport, RI and Woods Hole, MA.

We both have our STCW certificates as well as dive master.

We recently sold our boat and are anxious to get back out sailing!
