Dear Shipmates

Introduction

Hi, I'm Andrea! I'm 33 and have been calling the beautiful Gold Coast home for the past four years. I’ve always been a curious soul, passionate about exploring new places and experiences. After completing my Permanent Residency in Australia, I’ve taken some time to reflect and realized I’m ready for the next adventure—one that involves the open seas. Sailing has always been a dream of mine, and now I’m eager to embrace life on a boat, meet fascinating people, and learn new skills along the way.

I’m an Interior Designer by profession, but I’m craving something a little wilder and more adventurous. I have a deep love for nature and the ocean, and I’m fascinated by both sea and land creatures. I’m open-minded, kind, and empathetic, with a genuine curiosity about the world and people from all walks of life. I thrive on meaningful connections and love listening to the stories of others.

In my free time, you’ll find me surfing, practicing yoga, meditating, journaling, or enjoying a delicious breakfast. I also love staying active—whether it’s biking, roller skating, hiking, swimming, or camping. I believe that being tidy and organized helps clear the mind, and I’m passionate about living in harmony with my environment.

I’m excited to embark on a new journey and am ready for whatever comes next!

I wish I could claim to be a master communicator, but let's just say I'm a work in progress! I love learning new things and am eager to soak up all the knowledge I can about boats, the ocean, crew life, and community dynamics. When it comes to food, I’m all about healthy and nourishing meals—though I’m not exactly a gourmet chef. My partner says my cooking is “yummy,” so I guess that's a win!

I believe in accepting people as they are—ups, downs, and everything in between. Some say I’m super empathetic... maybe even too much! While I enjoy cooking and cleaning, I think it’s important for everyone to pitch in, especially when we’re all working as a crew. Sharing the load makes it more fun, right?

My English is pretty solid, but I’m always looking to improve, and I’ve been learning French for the last 10 years... well, learning might be a bit of a stretch, but I do my best!

I’d love to join a crew not just for the adventure, but also to discover new things—especially about myself. After spending the last four years working in construction painting to obtain my PR in Australia, I’ve found myself questioning my professional path. Originally, my plan was to jump straight back into Interior Design, my previous career, once I got my PR. But after working so hard and having little time for the things I love—friends, family, and simply enjoying life—I realized I need a change of pace.

I’m now looking to take a step back and embark on an adventure that challenges me in new ways. Ideally, I’d love to find a way to combine my passion for interior design with nature and a more holistic approach, but I’m still figuring that out. For now, I’m excited to try something different, step out of my comfort zone, and see where this journey takes me!
