HI I'm Dave!
I'm super easy going and quite the chameleon in most all environments. I have an extremely strong work ethic and am very detailed oriented. I do my best to stay healthy and live a strong and productive life. I've always been the friend and/or family member who's called when critical items need addressed, surveyed, or fixed. Something that has come in quite handy while on the water. I've often been called an "overachiever" with most everything I involve myself in, but, I feel if you expect the best possible outcome you have to go those few extra steps to perfect the process. And as much as I enjoy putting the required hard work in for any given task, I also understand the importance of relaxing and enjoying the fruits of your labor.

I started out as an excavating contractor in 2007 and 10 years ago switched to a general contractor. I learn extremely quickly and always look to attain new skills. I'm just about as handy as they come (except when it comes to writing "about me" in profiles...) I was born and raised in the country so self reliance was engrained at a very young age. I've spent an unknown amount of time in the Sierra mountains on solo hunting trips, started wrenching on my vehicles before I could even drive, and have made a living making peoples dreams come true through my renovation business. As happy as I have been these past few decades going camping in the high Sierras, making cross country road trips, 4wheeling on some of California's most highly acclaimed trails, making last minute travel arrangements that wound up lasting months, for me there's nothing like being at sea... and there's too much world to explore to sequester myself to one minute geographical location.

If you're on the hard performing maintenance and need an extra hand I'd be happy to swing by! (if I'm in the area and free from my day job of course) I live and work in Cabo San Lucas and I always have my tools with me. There's no need for financial compensation, rather, show me around your vessel and share your knowledge! :-)

The single largest driving factor to crew a boat, and to become a member here on Find a Crew is experience. Experience on different vessels types, under different captains, and problem solve as wide a range of situations as possible.

My ultimate plan is to purchase a sailboat and spend an undetermined amount of time exploring the world. Though I have a decent amount of time boating going back to my teenage years, up till now it has all been on powerboats. So to say I'm eager to learn to sail would be a gross understatement. I hope to spend time on ALL different types/sizes of vessels to acquire a broad range of skills in order to assist me in my future goal. No skill is to small, and no amount of knowledge is to great.
