ahoy, we sail every fri sat and sun from ramsgate to holland, belgium, and france , and have one big sail a year, this year around the uk clockwise from 9th of june to 18th of july. last year we sailed to norway, in 2008 to portugal ( the warm sail year) in 2007 to estonia and finland, in 2006 to spain's north coast and in 2005 to spitsbergen where the polar bears live.

my sailing boat , a dehler 41 ds from 1997, has been pampered last winter, and has a shining new and strong ( I hope) standing rigging, and has sailed a few hundred miles already since easter, and the mast still stands! there will be lots of weekends after the big sail around the uk clockwise this summer, which has been completed yesterday ( 18 7 10), doing 2200 miles. what is left is mainly weekend sailing leaving either fri evening or more likely thursday evenings when i get my friday off. you can see on "YOU-TUBE" our latest adventures under:" yacht isis ramsgate"
We sail long distances over short times, and do a lot of nightsailing. There are always 2 persons on watch at any time, and all the tasks are shared out, so every one will get to sail, cook and clean. We look after eachother big time. No alcohol is consumed while sailing ever, and everybody always wears life jackets and is clipped on. There is a wind vane steering that works really well, which is used on long passages. We navigate with paper charts, and there is a chartplotter as well. I expect every one to be safe, responsible and easy going, and you have to be more or less physically fit. And.... you must enjoy yourself.
