Send a wave or a message

What is a wave? What is a message?

A wave can be sent by all Free & Premium Members to test the waters first with matching members. To minimise the number of emails you receive, waves are always summarised in one email to the member and have no personal text or contact details included. Because waves are summarised they can be received in following frequencies: 'Almost instantly', 'Hourly', 'Twice daily' or 'Daily'. If you don't wish to receive any emails from members at all, you can suspend your profile and select 'Contact closed'.

A message can only be sent by Premium Members and may contain personal text (a pre-written text that can be over written by the member), exchanging as little or as much info and contact details as desired. Messages are sent instantly as an individual email to the member and always have the member's email address in the reply field. A 'Reply Yes' or 'Reply Maybe' message can be sent by Free Members who received a 'Contact' wave or message from a current Premium Member.

The system will automatically display the wave or message options available to you, depending if you are a Free or a Premium Member.

Please 'Sign in' or 'Register', to send a contact email to this member.
Send a WaveExpress your interest and check the waters without having to share your contact details.
Free members can send up to 10 waves per day, and 1 wave per 7 days to the same member.
Premium members can send unlimited number of waves to any matching members.

I sailed with Scott and Allison from Puerto Rico to Menorca via Bermuda, the Azores, Portugal and Gibraltor.

The trip was the second transatlantic I have done and both Scott and Allison were much more; competent, professional and fun to be around than the previous captain I sailed with.

From a life spent afloat, Scott and Allison have a great wealth of experience, knowledge and interesting stories.

I would happily sail with them again.

Spent 3 great weeks on board with Scott and Alison, it was a real privilege not only to sail on such a sensational yacht, but then there is Allison cooking which is first class, i'm still dreaming about the Thai vegetable and coconut curry.

They both have great experience and knowledge gained from a varied career at sea with lots of funny and informative story’s for round the dinner table at night.

Scott’s first class engineering background is also invaluable for anyone who want’s to understand more about boats and boat systems.

Great boat and great people would be happy to sail with them again any time.

Nico & Cate (201846) (link opens in new window) - 19th October 2011

Being onboard with Scott and Allison has been great! Not only we did learn a whole bunch of things, we loved the time spent sharing life with them.

They know their job perfectly and they are happy to teach it to others. Their enthusiasm is contagious and that makes working with them super easy. They know what they want, how to ask for it and, on top of all, they can show or teach how to do things the right way.

They have a wonderful attitude towards life and job, plenty of experience and tales to tell that make the onboard life easy and fun to live.

We'd love to meet them again somewhere and we'd be very happy to crew for them anytime.

Another findacrew success

We sailed over 4000 miles in the last two months from Puerto Rico to Bermuda, the Azores, Gibraltar, and on to Menorca. We found our crew through Findacrew and had a great passage. One volunteer crew was even hired on as crew. Next passage we'll again look to findacrew.

Thanks!

Gotten the great job and the awesome crew

We have been a findacrew member since before 2005, and used the site to help to set the round the world speedboat record of 60 days, 23 hours on 'Earthrace'. We have now gotten three good jobs through this site, and currently sail a powerful 92ft aluminum ketch. We are still using findacrew, this time to help us locate our new crew.
